Manufacturer overview
Original LÖWE's pruning-tool history dates to Walther Schröder's anvil-pruner development in 1923, within a business whose machine-factory roots reach back to Kiel in 1868. The current company, Gebr. Schröder, is based in Flintbek, Germany. The 1923 date describes the pruning-tool origin rather than the founding of every predecessor business.
The cutting principle uses a drawing blade against a fixed anvil. Replaceable blades, anvils, springs and pivots were part of the early design and remain a meaningful feature of the range. Originally used in viticulture, fruit growing and horticulture, the tools also developed industrial and trade applications. Original LÖWE's distinction is this focused cutting geometry and maintainable construction, offering dealers a specialist alternative to conventional bypass-pruning designs.
